    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Time to move to Canada

Free health care, legal weed, now this...

It might not transform Canada into a top sex tourism destination, but a Supreme Court ruling yesterday to legalize swingers clubs — including orgies and partner swapping — has broad implications for sexual culture and rights, experts say.

In its 7-2 decision, dealing with two Montreal swingers club operators charged with keeping a bawdy house, the court rewrote the definition of indecency. Now harm, rather than community standards, is the key yardstick that will be used to measure the point at which constitutional freedoms can be limited.

Under the ruling, public sex would meet the test of indecency, but orgies and partner swapping among adults in private do not. Acts must be shown to be harmful to the point where they "interfere with the proper functioning of society" before they can be labelled indecent, Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin wrote.

    Canada! **** yeah!

Not to be a wet blanket, but I live next door to Canada:

    1) Free health care. Nothing is free, you pay for it with your taxes and those are very very high. And just try getting a Dr.s appointment, every palce is jammed because it doesnt cost to go to the Dr.

    2) It's actully less of an offense to be caught with a small amount of weed here in NY as opposed to Canada.*

    3) Have you seen most swingers? Usually they look like Ron Jeremy, and yes Im talking about the women.

Our health care may be 'free', but we do have high taxes to compensate. I would still take it over the American system anyday.
As far as weed goes, I don't give a **** what is on the books. We smoke weed while standing in line to get into bars here, we smoke it downtown..the cops have better things to do than write somebody up for smoking a joint.
If you are some loud-mouthed punk or a con who the police want to bury for some reason or another - they will haul your ass in. Otherwise, if you conduct yourself in a mature manner and aren't causing trouble, the cops don't bother you.
I know because I live here.
    End of story.
As far as the swinger thing goes, I don't expect the law to last long. The gay bath houses are the businesses that stand to benefit the most... if the Conservatives get into power, the law will be quashed.

That opens a whole host of freedoms that can't be shouted down by conservative bigots. Fucking enlightened Canadians, I wish we had that **** here.

So if I get caught smoking a bowl all they do is fine me?

I figured I'd spend a day or two in the tombs.

Not that I smoke weed or anything....

    Yes.

Actually, a kid I trained with was fighting in a Tough Man contest here in BUffalo in 1994. Got busted before the event outside the locker room smoking a joint. He got a ticket and then went right out to fight. He lost. He also took about 5 ephedrine before smoking the joint.

    weird kid.

    Note to self:

Roll joints instead of using a pipe.
    Carry less than 25 g.
Don't smoke before getting in the ring (shudder).
