This guy is trolling big-time, but I think Gary Goodridge is a tough guy. Solid fighter, no question..but he even admitted that Kuk Sool Won was not his primary style.
He's Canadian man!! He's from Barrie..
Instead of putting down boxing and annoying everyone, why don't you tell us something about your style that makes it unique? Tell us about a tournament you attended or something...don't start off on the wrong foot by trolling.
I own the dvd with Goodridge's early fights on it, and I actually looked up your style after seeing him fight, as I had never heard of it before (that was about a year and a half ago).
We are always open to discussion on these sorts of things here, but starting off by criticizing boxing is not the best way to generate a good discussion.

I vote we give pagan his own Kuk Sul Won forum, right next to Aeso's BJJ one. Who's with me?

Like trollshido but without the insta-nausea background.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

In the old days with the lack of rules, many classical styles such as Kenpo (kieth hackney), Ninjitsu (Steve Jenum) and Kuk Sool Won dominated the UFC.
UFC 1 Finals: Gracie vs. Gordeau - Royce Gracie wins by tapout (rear naked choke)

UFC 2 Finals: Gracie vs. Smith - Gracie wins by corner stoppage (punches)

UFC 3 Finals: Jennum vs. Howard - Jennum wins by tapout (punches)

UFC 4 Finals: Gracie vs. Severn - Gracie wins by tapout in 15:49 (triangle choke)

UFC 5 Finals: Severn vs. Beneteau - Severn wins by tapout in 3:00 (armlock)

Okay, so out of the first 5 UFCs, Gracie (BJJ) won 3, Jennum (Ninjitsu) won 1, and Severn (Wrestling) won 1. Additionally, a look at the cards here , will tell you that during the first 5 UFCs, there were 60+ participants and NONE listed Kuk Sool Won as their style.

So obviously when you say "dominated", what you really mean is "didn't show up".

I see your ignorance. A knee to the balls is nothing. The knee is a WIDE area surface. Kuk sool won stylists would use a small area surface such as the tip of the thumb.
Well, the first, and most obvious advantage of the knee to the groin vs the tip of the thumb to the groin is that it can actually be landed in combat. I shudder with delicious anticipation of watching someone trying to fumble their thumb onto an opponents balls while eating a hailstorm of asskicking strikes...

I guess if your thumb-fu fails, you can always fall back on eye gouging.

    :laughing4
Jesus loves you. I think you're an asshole.

    Kuk Sool Won is great.

    Boxing sucks.

The proof of how great Kuk Sool Won is: a Kuk Sool Won practioner who was a boxing champion in Canada beat a wrestler in the UFC.

Thanks for that. I will begin shopping around for a Kuk Sool Won school immediately.
