And no, I've not seen people taught to defend themselves against 'boxers' like that in any CMA class I've attended so far.

    What a waste of time!

Inquiry: If the basis for your style is to fight another style. Would it not better to invite actual trained-boxers into your school to work with and maybe hopefully learn from? Just a thought!

    Looks like tards dancing...

    3) Keeping their lead hand outstretched is inviting disaster.

I always considered this a teaser...more or less bait...you wouldn't believe how many idiots will actually try to smack it out of the way, which opens them up for a shot!

I think we've just seen a clip of the style that Wing Chun was designed to work against.

BJJ might make you a better ground fighter, but Judo will make you a better dancer. Join us... or die

Great stuff, I've always wanted to know exactly what "the art of fighting without fighting" actually meant...

Why do people even try to come up with the "definitive defense against "boxing?""

That's like saying that boxing is too incomplete or inferior of a fighting style, and that by simply exploiting some hole in it with a perfect defensive stance, the whole thing falls apart.

Really, they're just wasting their time. And the video was flawed because while some of them assumed a pretty decent "boxing stance," some others were absolutely horrible, and were just dancing around. Plus, if a few had just extended there arms a bit, I think they would have whacked their partners in the head.

I think one of my instructors put it best once when speaking to some of his students regarding the "game plan" for going up against a boxer.

"They have better hands than you. Don't get into an exchange match. Use what skills you have that they don't have."

The end. No more theory fighting beyond that. No "use this technique" or "assume this stance." To say that is asinine. It's assuming that a boxer is so one-dimnensional and stupid that he won't adapt to whatever defense you put up.

Every school practices something like this. They say: "Okay, now we are going to try practicing against boxing-type attacks today. So I want one partner to be the 'boxer'." The problems in this video are obviously that:

#1. Nobody in the class has ever watched a boxing match.
#2. The sifu should have been tried to correct the "bad boxing".
#3. Someone in the class should have pointed out that the video made them look like idiots and shouldn't be on the net.

It's common practice though. You don't always have time to invite people from other schools, especially if they might laugh at you.

They crossed their feet A LOT in that clip, bad thing to do.

NOONE on that clip demonstrated any solid boxing footwork, hell there is no boxing at all.

I too want to see the clip with them actually trying this at a boxing school.
