I saw some Van Damme and Seagal pre-ownded DVD's for $10 bucks yesterday. It's funny how they used to be Hollywood bockbuster super-stars, and now they make B-movie trash.

    edit: OWNDED!

I don't think Cradle 2 the Grave was a hit movie. But it did have Randy and Chuck in it, + others.

Has he ever had a real hit movie?

Romeo must die (filmed here fergawdssake)
    The one (uh....lame)
Kiss of the Dragon (good action, Bridget fonda sucks)
Cradle 2tG (i hate the title)

Lethal Weapon 4 doesn't count 'cuz he wasn't the big name on the bill. That's all Mel.

(edit: I only listed the North american releases because there are too many chinese ones to list, and I haven't seen them all)

C2tG has a dope-ass soundtrack. That's about all it had going for it.
wait...wasn't DMX in that one too?

He has had endless REAL HIT MOVIES.

The world does not consist of America only. The first Wong Fei Hung movie the he did with Tsui Hark was a mega-blockbuster as was "Fist Of Legend" and many others that never got dubbed in rereleased in English. He put the fucking Shalin Temple on the map my man. If it wasn't for his 1982...83? edition of "Shaolin Temple" it's entirely possible that the temple would still have a population of about 3 instead of being a govt. appointed cultural treasure and China's equivalent to Disneyland.

Jet Li's impact on Chinese martial arts film is probably only second to Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan.

I know. I hope I didn't offend you. I like Jet Li. If I had some endless Jet Li movie resource, I would spend my days watching Jet Li movies instead of uh....y'know, whatever else. I'd get a chinese-english dictionary and teach myself chinese with Jet Li movies.

I have once upon a time in china 2 and 9 on VCD. I like 2, 9 is weird.

man I totally agree. I liked Hero in a lot of ways, but the fact that it was such a heap of propaganda bullshit really turned me off to it.

Jet Lee kicked ass in Lord of the Wu-Tang though!

He said it, I didn't. I think a lot of hollywood movies are crappy.

argh! I need more Jet Li movies!

edit: I'd also like to add that I actually liked Hero, despite whatever propagandist bullshit that may have gone right over my head, as I'm ignorant to that period in chinese history. I blame the school system, though I suppose I should just read a book.

I have to assume that Thaiboxeren was being sarchastic. He's an ignorant prick sometimes but I've never known him to be exceptionally ethnocentric or racist.

I"m not being racist or ethnocentrist. The success of a movie depends on if americans like it or not.
