Aren't those Ouanos the gloves that cut Randy Couture's eyelid? I would not wear commie gloves that had any part in injuring Captain America.

No, seriously, I went with Combat Sports IMF training gloves. I wanted something soft and shock-dispersing for training. I don't think I want to train in the 4 oz. gloves. For competition, sure.

Not anymore. It's been over two years.

John added caps/sleeves to the ends of the fingers shortly after that.

All of mine have this feature.

Wow, the last time I priced them out it was close to $100 CND to get my hands on a pair.

Have they increased the padding for a 'training glove' type item. Truth be told this was most of the reason I went with Twins. They are a little thicker than Pride gloves with good coverage.

Maybe it was just an exchange rate issue? They've been $60 US for as long as I can remember.

John made 40 pair of 8oz. gloves for me when we thought Texas MMA was going to require them. These were made with a layer of foam padding over a layer of gel to get the requisite weight. We've trained with them around the gym and I like 'em.

You might also want to look at his SHOOTO gloves:

I haven't tried them yet, but apparently they're used in competition in Japan and the US. Ouano International makes great products. These look like a good deal for $65 US.

    Plus, John Ouano is cool.

You want to put in a good word for a Canadian fighter?

PS - I guess the answer to the question comes down to a lot of personal preference. I have a bag (literally) of gloves I've tried and for one reason or another didn't like. The Twins (although a pain in the ass to break in) are my favourites for reasons listed. A close second would be the Fairtex gloves although to be fair I've never used Ouano gloves.

I picked up a pair of these babies. They are excellent.

$60 is a fair price to pay for what you get.

    Check out MMAwarehouse.com

Thats where I got my set.

Also, the idea of this thread has been used more times then Bush has said something stupid in a scripted news confrence.

This thread should be made a sticky and an open poll so newbies can judge which glove is best with a quick glance at a chart.

I picked my CSI MMA training gloves from www.mmamuscle.com, and also picked up a pair of Windy 16 oz training gloves. They have some great prices on gloves over there right now, but have somewhat expensive shipping even for single small items. Just order alot then I guess, that's what I did. :)

The CSI's are $40 and the Windy's are $50. I've talked to Paul at great length and he's told me that he takes a smaller percentage to be able to sell his gear cheaper.

well i bought the combat sports imf tech gloves and there very good. Good amount of padding for sparring and grappling. Really high quality. Only downside is it keeps cutting my pinky knuckle.
