@Ming: My 12 oz Top Kings are working out great. I ended up purchasing Hayabusa Hybrid MMA gloves as well... good fit, open palm, about 7 oz. Should be lei tai legal in Baltimore but then again like you said they are always changing their mind. I just don't want to use those crappy gloves they have at the USKSF vendors.... bleh.

Either way I'm not competing this year, I want to TRY and get out of the Infinite Female weight class but unfortunately the cutoff is 154 lbs and I can't foresee myself being under 160. I'm at 218 right now.

Maybe some year I'll see you at Lei Tai Baltimore! If you have a super heavyweight female fighter maybe I'll even face them! :)

I found a company called the Underground Boxing Company that makes natural brown gloves in 16 and 18 oz... 44 bucks. He says he has the gloves custom ordered for his fighters but sells the rest online to cover the cost (custom gloves require at least 30-50 pieces minimum at most companies). Give that a look if you're interested... I'm obsessed with the look of nat. brown.

Funny. I have a pair of 12 oz Top Kings that I use for Padwork/Mitts/Bag work. Love them to death.

I also have a pair of 12 oz. Top Kings. Been using them for everything, but I have a pair of 8oz. on the way that I will use for bag/padwork.

I have to recommend the Title GEL bag gloves. You literally get like no shock in your hand. Your hand will only get sore if you hit the bag wrong.

I wanted to find some gloves I could use for sparring and training, because I'm no expert I just spent the last hour going over this thread to find some decent gloves, but most of the links are dead. So would these be a good choice? http://www.combatsports.com/Combat-S...ductinfo/TG11/
plus post anything you think would be better and cheaper. (although I just found a site that sells the same pair for 45 but I lost the link)

I had a look at the link but cannot post a picture. We go with the sparring style gloves rather than the hybrids.

JKD is in the style field what sort of sparring do you do?

How hard do you want to hit each other mostly.

Well, at my college there is no JKD, so I'm in the MMA club, we do regular sessions of sparring every friday, I want something trainable, and spar safe w/o having to buy two different types of gloves.
