Most of my sparring partners, on the other hand, use Century's MMA gloves:

Which are vicious, vicious bastards. I wish I fought with people who were as big of gearheads as I was when it came to this stuff, instead of just buying the cheapest MMA gloves available at the local martial arts shop.....
this is exactly what i'm talking about.

you are using the proper gloves (training gloves) and are learning how to get around the obstacles that they create by being bulky. if and when you fight with mma fight gloves, you will be able to do the techniques better, due to the reduced size.

the people wearing the century gloves are wearing bag gloves to sparring. they are assholes. when people try to use those gloves in my school for MMA training, i make them wear 14oz boxing gloves on the ground. you think the ones you wear are hard to use? wearing the boxing gloves makes them get the proper training gloves right away!

Has anybody found the CSI training gloves cheaper than the CSI sight? I've done a bit of searching and have not found anything less than the 60 list price? PM me please if you can. I am trying to get my students to get their own gloves.

if you have students, then you should look into the wholesale program at CSI. it's a good program, and if you can prove to them that you teach a class, then you should qualify. they have always done a great job as far as customer service and work with me to get the right gear for my school at a great price point.

I am going to be in Thailand pretty soon. Is it worth it to get a hold of some gear while I am there, as opposed to buying off the internet?

Currently I just do western boxing and grappling but pretty soon I am going to start studying Kun Khmer (basically the same as Muay Thai) so I need gloves that are useful for both as well as shin guards. Right now I just use the gloves from my gym but I feel like I'm gonna get a finger fungus soon.

Has anyone ordered gloves from this site: muaythai-fighting.com ?

Specifically, I'd like to order these:
    http://www.muaythai-fighting.com/twi...8cb7cfbbd50694

They are the only good synthetic leather gloves I can find, but shipping to the U.S. is $30 a pair. I want to sell these at my school, but If I buy them for $75 they better be great.

I've never ordered from that site but I do like those gloves a lot. They were my favorite training gloves for a couple years and are really durable.

    Thanks, it helps.
Do you prefer synthetics to leather?

Not really. I just happen to have experience with that glove. I wouldn't hesitate to get either version of the twins special. It looks like that company actually has the leather one in stock.

The reason I want to get them is because they are synthetic.

I have these: http://www.combatsports.com/detail.aspx?ID=24435 and I love them, but they're discontinued.
