Has anyone else ever used the official Chuck Norris fingerless wristwrap gloves? I purchased mine in 1999 and they still do the trick. They aren't as pretty as the used to be but they still hold up.

I had a pair. The gripbar sucks for grappling and teaches bad habits on the bag IMO.

I have a 16oz pair of these, and they ROCK:

Like whiteshark said, for hard standup you need a pair of good MT gloves.

The Chuck Norris gloves are really good, you just have to remove the bar in the hand grip and they are good to go. I have a pair of Century gloves that are similar. I also removed the bar. I still think the CN gloves are better.

I'd like to get some of the open palm and thumb gloves though. I know its good to have thumb protection but I don't like all the extra crap on my hands.

Gloves from Fairtex look good but expensive, does anybody use them?

Can anyone recommend a pair of decent cheap mma gloves? A guy I train with wants a pair but he's broke. The total budget including shipping is around 45 euro.

...45euro doesn't seem too broke to me for one pair of gloves.

As someone just beginning in MT/MMA on a budget, I'm looking for an "all-around" glove that can do for the first few months of training until I get a job over the summer. The gym I train at currently has gloves for people to use (presumably the 16oz ones I used in the boxing class) but I'd like to get my own for sparring/practicing, and because frankly communal gloves just plain kinda suck. The 16oz Combat Sports ones Wolf posted above look like they'd do the trick, but since I'm doing BJJ as well, I want to be able to spar and use grappling as well.

Does anyone know of a company that makes big mma gloves? I've looked at quite a few web sites and all I can find are XL and those are too small.

I just started useing the CombatSports MMA sparring gloves and I like em. They take a little to get used to and you need to strech out the pinky loop or it'll pull your finger up even in a fist. They work good for getting in some striking while rolling. They are front loaded and padded up pretty good so you aren't going to hurt a guy too bad if your going 50%-75%.

I use Title MMA gloves for my competition gloves. I do not recomend them for bag work though as they are pretty rough on the hands. But they offer up a free range of movement and good wrist support and they have a pretty aggressive profile so a good glancing hit has a better than average chance of opening up a cut.

I've used these for ten months and they're still holding up well.

Though they are a pain to put them on.
