    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Weight gain advice

I weight about 174-178lbs, depending on the time of day. As it is I am on the bottom of my (172-189lb) wrestling weight class. Unfortunately, due to my 4% body fat I am not allowed to wrestle any lower. I need to get to the top of my strangely broad weight class. Essentially I need to gain about 10 lbs.

My metabolism is screamingly fast. I've been TRYING to gain weight for the past 3 weeks or so, and it hasn't really shown anything at all. I workout moderate-high intensity for 2 hours a day, and eat fairly much like a pig. I drink maybe 10 full bottles of water a day. Does anyone have any healthy ways for gaining weight quickly? Ideally, I'd like as much of this weight to be in muscle as possible, but anything is better than nothing.

Any advice is good, whether it is putting in extra weight-lifting on the weekends or diet, or whatever you can think of.

However, one of my major problems is that I have a sensitive digestive system. If I eat too much gross food before practice I get sick.

And no, reducing the amount I work out is not an option.

    Thanks.

    enjoy ur malnutrition

I know this sounds like nutritional suicide, but fast food will turn you into a fatass instantly. It's worth considering if you really want to gain weight and can't do it by lifting weights.

You're not 4% body fat. The only way to maintain that kind of level is to stop eating carbs and dehydrate yourself.

Yeah, who told you that you are 4%? BMI?

Why do you need to get bigger? Are you not comfortable at your weight or something?

Not only are you not 4% BF, but I'd put money your "eat like a pig" really means "not enough to feed a cat". There is no way around the "eating more than you burn = gaining weight". So track what you eat at least for calories and protien g's.

If you have to eat a half gallon of ice cream before bed or wake up at 3am to down a protien shake then that's what you do.
You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

I assume the kid is in high school, so he may be 4% but it is unlikely. But you don't know with out seeing him. I assume they use skin calipers and they have a huge margin of error.

And yes, eat kid. Nutrtionally dense foods several times a day. When I went from wrestling to bodybuilding I went from 164 to 195 in one year. Here is an example of how you should be eating.

    Breakfast:
    6+ eggs, scrambled in butter.
    6 pieces of toast
    OJ

    Snack
    Sandwich (chicken breast with mayo)

    Lunch
    2 cups whole milk
    3 PBJ sandwiches

    Take massive dump.

    Snack
I used to eat toaster waffels with jelly
and have a protein shake (they taste so much better now than they did in 1990)

    Dinner
As much as your mother will allow you to have from what ever she makes

    Before bed
MMMM Ice cream, yummy ice cream

On weekends, hit the Chineese buffet once or twice.

Do lots of squats, deads and pull ups.

I've had a job since high school, partially to subsidize my food and training costs.
Now Im 33, and 240 at about 12%body fat.

Remember the lunch scene in breakfast club? Think like Estevez.

Alot of skinny guys trying to put on weight eat one big meal and think they will gain from it. You need to eat all day.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Sleep is very overlooked. Get enough.

This reminds me of the time in BJJ when one of the guy's wanted to gain some weight.

He weighs himself on the scale and then starts talking to the instructor (more less):

Him - "Damn, I'm just not gaining any weight! I drink 3 protein shakes a day and eat a lot, so I don't understand..."

Instructor - "And you're lifting too, right?"

    Him - *blank stare*
