    Urbancombatives.com - Bullshido? Clips inside..

The following was posted by a guy calling himself S.southey, posting under the name Mateus.

Black belt , is the beggining of training, In the system I practice its a 24hr + exam tailored to the individual, and knowing the Instructor, it will be the most evil 24hrs of your life (and thats after 12 Months of constant technical examinations) ... Takes on average around 6-8 years to achieve a Black belt grade ... then you start to learn properly
    He was then asked

"And which system is this? How much of that 24 hours includes actual fighting?"

Bout 18 or so... We have to fight everyone in the club.... (Thats 376 people)
After many requests for him to name this style he finally came up with Urbancombatives.com. The site is padded out with a lot of content but most interesting is the videos page. As the saying goes "a picture tells a thousand words" so I suppose these videos should be an accurate representation of the style.

So, bearing in mind the clips are of black belts and the "master" who invented the style, let the discussion begin....

OK I just pissed myself laughing at "the fend", the style of curling into a little ball getting your ass beaten.

Gee I wonder how it would work against TEH UPP3RCUT?!!!

I don't think it would work against any kind of body shot either?

It appears that from the fend you don;t have any counter attack options, and not much visibility either, i.e. no control.

The fend is for very pretty people, who really want to keep their good looks, and prefer giving the attacker 1,000 other options to beat them to a pulp.

Facinating...the "Improvised Atttack with a key" clip reminds me of the "Star Wars kid" video.

I don't see it. I see bottom guy pushing him off with his palm in a manner that would make any BJJ player weep, I don't see him actually hitting him or hurting him anywhere. Does anyone else see what I miss?
