multi-purpose muay thai gloves

I'm looking to buy some gloves for Muay Thai.

The websites that I've been looking at have them seperated by "bag gloves"
or "fight gloves" or "training gloves" or "sparring gloves."

Since I can't afford to buy a pair of gloves for each possible use, I need
to get a good set of multi-purpose gloves, that I can spar with and hit the
heavy bag.

I'm guessing that would be "training gloves" but I figured I'd ask.

And while I have everyone's attention... (and after looking at the gear sites a bit more)

my instructor recommends Fairtex stuff, but from what I've seen it seems to be more expensive. Is the extra cost worth it? Any brands I should look for, or specifically stay away from?

I generally look for the ambiguous Super Bag Gloves

I use the 16oz sparring gloves for everything. As long as you can spar with them, it should be gravy.

16 oz sparring gloves is what you want if you are going to spar. Otherwise you're being a jerk to your training partners.

Later on you can buy some el cheapo bag gloves for the heavy bag.

yeah, my instructor said to get 16 oz gloves, but wasn't more specific than that.

I've been using the gloves and shin pads at the gym, and they've definitely seen better days.

I have several Aries items I find they are an excellent value. Pretty much the cheapest stuff that won't immediately fall apart.
