Does anybody have any experience with Jon Alexander or his organisation ?

    http://www.orientalmartialarts.org

In addition to many pictures of him in a gi, and the site saying he teaches 'non-contact goju karate', various japanese weapon arts and something called 'zen-shin-shaolin-taiji-kung fu' he also teaches the following to 'black sash/instructor standard'

    # SAN-SHOU CHINESE KICKBOXING WRESTLING/COMBAT SKILLS/ SELF DEFENCE
    # LAU GAR KUNG FU BASICS
    # WING-CHUN TRADITIONAL FORM
    # CHINESE BROAD SWORD
    # TAI-CHI STRAIGHT EDGED SWORD
    # CHEN STYLE 32 STEP SWORD FORM
    # CHEN STYLE SPEAR FORM
    # CHEN STYLE 36 STEP FORM
    # WING-CHUN STAFF
    # KUNG FU SPARRING/FREEFIGHTING TECHNIQUES
    # SINGLE/DOUBLE KNIFE AND STICK DEFENCE
    # LONG STAFF BASIC FORMS
Has anybody heard of him on the sanshou circuit in the UK ?

I think that he's the same guy who offers a 'job' teaching tai chi or Japanese sword in adverts in the back of UK martial arts magazines.

Apparently there is a big shortage of tai chi and jap sword teachers who have had a one day course in the UK and you can make a living from it. (To find out how, simply send $150 to etc.....)

I take it you've never heard of him, or anybody who studied under him, competing in San Shou then ?

I think thats all they can fit on the ad.

Totaly bogus......How many full time 'Japanese' sword teachers are there? How many with zero experiance?

On a tangent here, I have just been scanning mags in Borders again. Shaolin UK are offering 16-20k a year for full time teachers!!!
Not sure if you have to be a monk already!
