WUMA U.K. The Hardest Blackbelt Gradings in the world
Here's my first related thread. I did do a seach and nothing came up. I hope it's no repost, I know how you guys hate a repost!
Does anyone know anything of these guys? Bullshido? You Decide....
"About the actual grading
WUMA Blackbelt Gradings are reputed to be the hardest in the world,
I wouldn't want it any other way and I am sure you would also like to keep to this kind of standard also.....As long as the applicant is prepared to work for their Dan grade harder than they have ever worked in their lives then we see no problem why anyone couldn't pass. If one fails then we do not charge for the re-take."
Here is a link to their blackbelt honour page (copy and paste link to browser):
Upon this page is a link to the "Hardest ever grading":
Have a look at the pics of the hardest grading in the world ever. You will be shocked!
An instuctor of the month!
Can't put my finger on it yet, but it has the faint smell of bullshido all over it... such as "Master Deadly", kiddie black belts, bizarro gi's, and
"Paddy Doyle smashes the Kumite World Title by Fighting 140 Blackbelts at the WUMA HQ"
also in the news:
"Master Deadly receives: "Master of the Year 2005" from the: World Head of Family Sokeship Council"
I think this picture answers your questions.
Imports from Japan, Shipping Worldwide! Art Junkie, Scramble, BJJ Spirits, Reversal...
Did the kids who graduated (as per the 'sucessful candidates) period get abandoned and raised by monks or something? Even though the requirements just sound like bollix, a kid passed? Shouldnt that be an insult to your school?
This Blackbelt Grading below is reported to be one of the hardest ever gradings at HQ!
The participants do 7 hours on the Saturday then 7 hours on the Sunday.
The last 3 hours of the grading is the killer as you can see below!
And then, the coup de grace: the WUMA grading panel, featuring the likes of Soke Brian Dossett 10th Dan, head of Spirit Combat. Nuff said and good find.
Quite a few of the kickboxing clubs around oxford seem to be affiliated with WUMA.
I don't think WUMA is supposed to be a 'style' really, it's just seems to be a tournament promotion/insurance organisation which lots of independant clubs that want to enter semi-contact/light continuous kickboxing tournaments join.
I find it hard to take any man seriously who looks like that, paints his face and calls himself deadly dicker. I'd hate to see how a dicker fights.

Yes he is out of shape, but back in the day he was a very good point fighter and general tough guy in kick boxing.

Apparently he does it by fucking you up! He was (and may be still is) the kind of guy who even though he hits hard himself, wins by not caring that he's been hit or hurt, he just keeps hitting you until you care that you have been hit and hurt.
He was also apparently in enough street fights to get a reputation as a guy not to mess with etc.
Most of this info comes from a guy who does not even like DD very much, so while it is anecdotal, it is not biased.
If anyone is really interested he was interviewed in last months 'fighters international' mag (I think that's the name, I scan it in borders sometimes).
Only if my question was:
