Most guys in the kan don't look at it as a fighting art, but as a defensive art. If you look at most of the techniques, actually almost all of them....they're strictly techniques performed against the first attack. That's why if i want to train in attacking, it'll be Muay Thai or something of that nature, which is actually decently feasible because there's some Muay Thai instruction going on about half an hour away from here, but like i said before, my days last 18 hours minimum, so time is an issue.

Another issue is conditioning...my conditioning went to **** after i had a 2 or 3 month long episode of anxiety and hypochondria....no idea where the hell it came from ,but i have the heart of a 40 year old right now as a result. My cardio conditioning has gone down the drain. I'd probably have to join the beginner's class at the gym with the 50 year old fat fucks with desk jobs.

the guys in that video are gymnasts. The monkey bar stuff is not taught anywhere but gymnasitics and all the flipping and twisting is floor exercise skills.

Am i the only one who saw the second half of the video? lol....

Everybody keeps commenting on it as if the first part with the monkey bars and the somersaults was all there was to it.

Neh, the jumping from roof to roof part was really neat.

I've seen a nother video were these gansters chase some guy in an apartment building. It's crazy as hell.

Any Parkour guy know of this video? He does some amazing stuff.

Unfortunately, the chase-theme is common in Parkour videos that insert a little storyline. Escape is technically the original use of Parkour. As such, it has martial qualities. If you try and beat him, he'll run away and you'll never see him again...
