Special thanks to PointyShinyBurn for apparently grasping my idea the clearest even though he doesn't seem to agree with it. It's a little odd because he starts out saying:

I meant I believe exactly the position your were summarising, a mechanistic universe. Not the position you hold, a dualistic one. It was a little confusing the way I put it.

Incorrect - their definition is the soul of their existance/nonexistance.

But its definition does not alter depending on whether or not it exists (unless that definition contains an existential component).
