Dystrophy, do they have a NO GI class as well. If they do did you get to participate in one also? Do they still teach Self defence in their curriculim? I was never able to get over there to their location on Lincoln ave, i believe. I wouldnt mind checking it out.

Yes, they have a no-kimono class every friday 6-7pm. I'm enjoying the classes there as everyone is friendly and I came there for a non-bullshido environment and thats something they provide. Best part is sleeping like a baby the night after an intense session of training and weighlifting.
I haven't currently participated in the no-gi section yet since I still need to go over the basics. And yes, they do the self-defense courses. I think the purpose of that is to get acclimated to the whole process. If you're interested, you can arrange for a free-class to participate in. If you decide join my name is Mark, just say hi or something. I'll probably put up a picture of myself soon.

I train at POW! kickboxing. They offer Rickson Gracie JJ and kickboxing, but they have a limited number of actual MMA classes. However, if you're training for an MMA fight, the instructors will work with you in that context. They're very open to helping people with their training needs.
I just renewed my contract for my 4th year. That's how good I feel they are.

the Rickson class is Dino C's class right, isnt that where Arlovski rolls at when he's in town?
I still like Team Torres, Miguel is tough. And besides there are no easy rolls with these guys.

Dino Costeas is a Rickson Black Belt and Arlovski shows up to classes every now and then, including beginner's classes. People who don't watch UFC think he's just some good dude who's really strong, and it's funny when you tell them that he's a world champ at MMA.

This isnt quite Chicago, but maybe one of you guys have heard of it.
I want to know if any of you guys have any experience with this place since its pretty much the only muay thai place I could find in the area.
Any other muay thai places in the general area?

Yeah.... I want to say that Essential Element Martial Arts on w 79th has a JKD program. They definitely have an Inasanto Blend Kali Program there.
