According to the doctor that they interviewed as part of it, the majority of said injuries were caused because the muscles were growing far too quickly for the tendons and ligaments to catch up, causing injuries that would rarely occur to become far more frequent.
To be honest, it's your body so feel free to **** it up if you wish. I personally would never use anything that risks severe damage to my two buddies hanging out in the pouch, or any other part of my body. Ironman from Bodybuildingforyou.com, the Anabolics moderator, even has a whole article on the side-effects steroids bring about and how he thinks you can avert them, but just reading some of them should make a person very wary about using them.
Not a bad read, though some of the things he claims aren't a big deal really are a lot more common than he thinks.
