    Getting bled on

OK, I did a search; I am pretty sure this has been covered before and I will justly get flamed, but if not I have a question. I just started kickboxing and BJJ at a local gym. I am still too much of a beginner at kickboxing to seriously spar (I was looking at the more experienced guys going at it and I would have been instantly destroyed,) but I have been grappling pretty intensely.
Yesterday I was grappling and noticed some blood on my foot; it turned out that my partner had split a toenail and was bleeding. The blood was on intact skin so I didn't think anything about it and we went right back to grappling, but after the class I started to think about the health issues being bled on might cause. Now, I'm not paranoid and this certainly isn't a "oh noes, b100d!" thread, I just was wondering if this is something I should be concerned about. I know that this will certainly happen again, especially when I start seriously sparring, so I was thinking of talking to my doctor and perhaps getting vaccinations against some of the diseases I would be most worried about (like hepatitis.) But then I think I am just being a stupid noob and that I shouldn't worry at all. Am I an idiot for thinking about this?

    You should be vaccinated anyway.

it's a risk, like getting limbs broken, joints dislocated, etc.

take precautions to minimize the risk, but realize it's still there.

Wipe it off. Shower frequently. Keep your mouth closed and cover any broken skin prior to working out.

The risk of infection due to incidental contact with blood is pretty minimal, but common sense is as common sense does.

Or you coauld take up tai chi. Not the hardass brawling tai chi'ers...but the old people in a park kind.
And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".

I was sparring with some noob in Muay Thai today and accidentally cut his arm with my toenail, there was blood all over the place. ´twas rather embarrassing really...

*Note to self, must cut toenails before next training

Well, I always get confused about which fluids you are supposed to drink and which you are supposed to flush... I didn't want to make a mistake like that other guy here and drink the wrong one.

Anyway, I found out that they are big fans of immunizing people at the university's health clinic, so I called about a HBV vaccination. They looked at my immunization record they found out that when I was a kid I got two of the three required HBV shots. I think it is rather odd my parents never took me to get the last one. Maybe they only love me 2/3 as much as other parents love their kids?
