Video of Austin Throwdown in April '05

I want to apologize for not posting anything in a long time and for not posting more videos. My excuse is simple - I had a heart attack shortly after the throwdown. While it didn't kill me it scared me shitless. When I was finally able to do more than lay around we had a little thunderstorm called Rita come thru our town.

Been a long summer. Good news is I am healthy again. Better news is I have all the video I shot on DVD. If you could give us an address we will mail you a copy of it so you can amaze your friends and family with your sparring techniques. I will post this on the forums so all that were there can do the same. You can pm me with your home address.

    Glad to be back...

    Welcome back bro.
"It does not matter who the master is. It does not matter what the face looks like. The masters are of the Qimen school of qigong/meditation which is related to Zen. The master wears white robes, and the predecessor master wears bright gold robes. The qimen school travels the univers and is not restricted to what paradise they live in. It has many masters" -Serious Harm

Welcome back, good to see you up and around.
If you don't mind sharing the details of your heart attack, I think it would be worthwhile for all.

I had been having pains for a while - even before the throwdown. Since I normally pull this or that muscle I thought nothing of it.

After the throwdown - a few weeks later - I had pains and they fit the symtoms of a heart attack. Since I am a firefighter and I knew my guys would respond if I called 911, I had my wife drive me. I spent a few days in the hospital. It wasn't fun. Drained more blood from me than I thought I had.

Had a stress test done and had to carry tiny nitro pills with me. During the test the doctor and nurse both asked if I worked out. I told them about my martial arts and that I do work out in my garage and on the job. They noted that possibly because of both my heart was strong and was able to prevent a lot of damage to it during the attack. Don't know if they were shining me on but it made me feel good to think all those hours on the mats made a difference. They also noted that I need to watch what I eat and to stop smoking. I am doing both as of this time.

The doctor said, after the test that there was some blockage. That has been dealt with. Through it all my beloved held my hand and kept me strong.

It was a very scary time for me.

I thank all of you for your words of support.

Dude, stories like that are why I am sincerely trying to clean up my act. I am far more scared of hospitals and dying then anything else.

Glad to have you back in one piece.
There's no choice but to confront you, to engage you, to erase you. I've gone to great lengths to expand my threshold of pain. I will use my mistakes against you. There's no other choice.
