split feet/toes

So I started capoeira Saturday with a local club that meets at a rec center.

Much different than I expected. Pretty big class size (25 or so). And such a tough tough workout. Just killed my thighs and ass since you basically spend the whole class in a one or two legged squat.

There was also a mastre that came over from brazil and he did "teh R3AL" capoeira. turns out he is the teacher's teacher down from NY. Guy must have been 45+ years old and still had great movement. His stuff had minimal flash, nice trips, good defense (movement and keeping hands up), normal kicks/punches that looked effective and strange kung fu whipping strikes that looked like they had some serious power in them. Wierdest thing coming from boxing was the angles they were attacking from. Some looked like good setups, some looked crazy to throw from.

There were also several hot girls. and if you're into BJJ there were also some ripped guys.

There's lots of pivots and it's done in bare feet. So I of course split both my big toes and the ball of my foot. I taped them up and did the gause/neospoirn thing but they're still bleeding a little and that's not normal for me. They're not deep, just about an inch long, but the skin is pretty thick there and seems to want to heal around the cut, not to heal the cut closed.

So anyone have any tips for speeding healing of cut feet?

No one's ever had a cut on the bottom of their foot that wasn't healing cleanly?

superglue man. Gauze just don't cut it for such a "high traffic" area.

I hear Dermabond has a bit more elasticity, so it keeps wounds closed better, though. Same stuff...

I've never heard of the superglue thing, but I find that this stuff called Bepanthen works a treat. It's actually a nappy rash cream, but the reason it works is because it is an antiseptic that also keeps the area moist so it doesn't keep splitting, and because it's a really oily cream it doesn't just wash/wipe off in five seconds. You can get it at pharmacies.
