Apparently, this is not the first time someone has been curious about Mr. Prescott.

Nobody seemed to know him, based on the lack of answers to the thread.

Day 2 and no response. Good find by Mr. Mantis providing proof Ian is aware of this thread. That pre-empts any excuse he might offer in the future about not being aware of the questions. Good find by HoneyBadger as well ... seems this isn't the first go at these issues. Wicked avatar pic HB ... I'm not about to ask.
Hello Ian, do be a good sport, quit lurking, and answer the questions directly ... cool? -

My initial sweep is unique in that never before have I found so LITTLE actual information on anyone I've looked into. With the exception of various message boards and his own website, Mr. Prescott only turns up here:
http://www.hsing-i.com/teachers/
has prescott listed under "teachers." This site is dedicated primarily to the Mike Patterson lineage of Hsing yi. I do not know exactly what Mr. Prescott's association with Patterson is. I am looking into the patterson link, but I strongly suspect it is a simple link exchange for cross-marketing purposes.
Futhermore, Prescott's own site does not mention his own training/instructors that I can find. No bio page, no lineage, no certifications. Prescott's training is a ghost as far as web presence goes. I will start poring through his online positngs at various forums today. I would appreciate it if some senior TCMA guys could start going through them as well, because I will undoubtably miss some TCMA bullshido redflags, given I have no CMA experience. Also, if he has attended any seminars, gatherings, quilting bees or whatever, associated with the TCMA community, I want to know who has seen and talked to him.
Ultimately, a Scranton area bullie needs to check out some of his classes. Preferably someone he doesn't know, but has some CMA experience.
Keep in mind, guys...this is an objective evaluation. Do not report anything that is not a verfiable fact. If we can't come up with anything verfiable, that is telling in and of itself. This is an information-gathering stage, so lets stick with information. Perhaps a mod could split this to the BBC as well.
*grabs shovel* will keep digging...
edit: his website's only been up since July. This guy appears to have popped up out of nowhere.Last edited by Scrapper; 11/06/2005 12:58pm at .
And lo, Kano looked down upon the field and saw the multitudes. Amongst them were the disciples of Uesheba who were greatly vexed at his sayings. And Kano spake: "Do not be concerned with the mote in thy neighbor's eye, when verily thou hast a massive stick in thine ass".
