If not a kilt, he could look into Dhoti's. I actually have one I sport from time to time in the summer months. With the exception of most people staring at me and the occasional Indian person flipping out because a big white dude is wearing one they tend to be exceptionally comfortable.

Without the goofy shirt is what I wear, of course. Most Highland Games guys get theirs from the same place too. That's something I can't wait to try out someday.
