on that note, why does every noob here have to make their virginal posts in defence of something? so far, no noobs Ive seen, myself included, have posted a good bullshido find, but they seem proficient in spamming anti tai chi bashing/WC/TKD threads. Can't you just go with the flow and accept their criticisms? Most of them are pretty valid.

So if you see that these 'valid' threads are being shut down for defending a style, etc, why are you posting here with another one? Surely you can see what kind of joint BS is, and that this kinda stuff doesnt go down well. IF youre really irritated about it, dont tell us, tell admin. Otherwise, stop making people hate you.

AGHHH!
Look chief, plenty of people here feel Tai Chi is good stuff, as long as it is trained in an alive manner. When it is trained dead, it is just as worthless as any other dead martial art. Your post and this thread do nothing to further contribute to the already long archive of threads about tai chi. Lurk for awhile, then try again. STOP MAKING THREADS.
Who let all the goddamned chimps play on the computer today? -

Z'dimd - Origonally Tai Chi was invented after a monk (or somebody like that) witnessed a snake fighting with a crane, so the story goes. He invented a basic routine to emulate as best he could. The first form only had around 12 or so moves. I dunno, I just remember the form origonally included a lot of spinning and stamping, but was a hell of a lot shorter, until it was adapted into I believe Yang style by someone else.... I should find that site again...
Yeah, you practice a string of moves in a specific pattern. Isn't that a kata? -

garbanzobean - I agree with the "live mannor" thing. Then again, if you look at my other post "Chi" and check some of the edits, you can see some of the people there violently defend their view of Tai Chi as "movements and positions specifically done by the elderly to alleviate common ailments by training good posture, muscular strength and proper breathing."
kinda like yoga... which it isn't
