He meant a forged hand ( his) compared to an un-forged hand ( an untrained individual).

I strenghten hands/grip/forearms with a 9 lb. bag of steel shot. Toss into air, catch, let arm swing down and up to other side, release and catch w/other hand, swing down and up to other side, release, repeat. Do approx. 120 reps. like this every third day or so. After that I spend a few mins. w/chinese energy balls, then run hands under warm water for just a bit. FWIW, I do this after some super-slow push-ups. I really like this routine.
I always wrap my hands when boxing or using a bag. Never had an injury but I'm not doing it at a competition level.
I've never used a dit da jow product. Know very little about them but I did hear someone say that you could just use a certain over-the-counter medication instead. I don't remember the name and I have no idea if it is true.

I use a formula that has worked wonders for me. It is large(over 30 herbs) and makes 2- 3 gallons of jow when filled.

Some of the herbs need to be soaked in wine then dry fried to make them act better a couple are soaked in vinegar or salt, but most people dont do that anymore they just soak em in the booze. I use whiskey as well as vodka.

I occasionally do IP stuff. Mostly hitting small canvas bags filled with either rice, mung beans or steel BBs. I'm not sure, but I think some people in my school may train IP on the wooden dummy(extremely hard wood, very little give). I've seen good results and haven't spent that much time on it.

At my school doing IP always comes with a few caveats. Like, you should know how to punch with a really tight fist before you do it. We also use dit da jow and do a lot of stretches/exercises for the fingers to keep the hands healthy/dexterous. Seems to work well.

Never tried using wraps or doing knuckle pushups.

I make my own. Buy my own herbs and prepare them(much to the distaste of my soon to be wife) myself.

Store bought are bogus. Make them yourself and you save money and maybe save your hands. Unless you know what the hell you are training with you might be only using simple bruise medicine when you need a specific strong moving medicine.

They are going to have 5 "masters" rate their secret jow in the next issue of IKF. I cannot wait to read it and see if its real or total bullshit to get you to buy. You know kid diddler Master Brian Gray is going to be in there as he sells mags for IKF.

Do you make your own or rely on someone else?
