    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Speedy Weight Loss in and out of the gym

    So I'm 215 lbs., 5' 7" and I wanna lose 22 pounds + build muscle.

Currently I've started working out on an exercise bike every day for 30 min. and weight training at a gym. I can bench 150 lbs. (pathetic).

Any advice? Am I just doing something futile? :beatdead:

P\S: I'm 15 years old, so with that in mind, don't expect me to lift a cathedral within a week.

I know you probably can't tell from looking at me, but I lost alot of weight. The best way to lose weight is through diet. I think having a goal helps, not like losing 50 pounds, but I want to lose 30 pounds so I can get into a decent weight class for boxing. I personally lost close to 100 pounds, through diet change and working out.

Edit: I'll keep this thread alive during the day so more qualified people can help ypu out.

I'm no guru, but take a look at your diet, and read up lots about what different foods do for your body and what your body needs, then try eating lots of smaller meals during the day (I probably have about 6) rather than three big meals. Given that you're 15 maybe your parents do the cooking, but offer to do it yourself, and do the grocery shopping, so you can have more control over what you eat.

Also, small changes in your lifestyle can help too - I presume you're still in school, so try walking to and from school every day as well, and organise outings with your friends that involve physical activity, like having a game of tennis or something instead of just sitting around.

Oh yeah - when you start to get sick and tired of riding the bike every day, don't just keep forcing yourself to do it (cos you'll end up getting annoyed and just stopping altogether), find some other kind of exercise to do instead for a while.

What Lothene said and much more:Find a style with continuess hard
    training like kick-boxing perhaps.

Then go find a hobby that's very time consuming.Just keep active. If you're in say Australia then go swimming or surfing. If you live in the North-Est US.Then go Cross-country skiing during the winter of maybe indoor wall-climbing.Anything but sitting down all day.

And for go sakes no more junk food!
