While you have points here, it seems like this is an in-motion shot, I wouldn't take this as a proof of anything.

The only way to find out is to have somebody pay him a visit. Otherwise he's as legit as other people I've seen on the inernet.

What's wrong with this picture, for the non judo or bjj person.

    1. His base or stance is not sufficient. This move requires you to contain your opponent by, typically but not always, crushing him with your weight while sitting on his head and clamping your knees together on his head, neck. He is putting no weight on his partner. His position in the photo leaves a lot of daylight between the two of them. Daylight means there's room to escape. He is asking to be swept in this photo.

    2. His right arm is practically straight. Once again the daylight analogy. Without a deep hooking arm, one where the inside of your elbow is seated well into the inside of his elbow while you're pulling hard to extend your opponents upper arm away from his body, the kimura is much easier to escape.

    3. His left hand is barely grabbing the opponent's wrist. A proper grip requires that you wrap your hand as far as possible around your partner's wrist and that you grab it as close as possible to his hand for maximum torque.

The only thing he's doing correctly, his right hand is grabbing his left wrist close to his left hand. Maybe he was transitioning when the photo was taken, I don't know. I do know that if someone took a picture of me like that and I saw it, I would ask them to take a better picture than this one.

This guy may be legit, for all I know. If he is, he needs to find himself a better photographer.

I was just about to blame to photographers for any peculiarities. But he just doesn't look like a BJJ black belt you know? Every black belt I have seen looks intimidating. This guy is not.

Althought he could have gotten very lazy and neglectful of his training.

    Heh,

The only Paulo Coelho i've heard of is a new-age author (The Alchemist etc).

Maybe he's his spiritual mentor as well?

Someone just call the sonofabiscuit and ask him who he got his black belt from, please. If he's legit then we can move on. If he's not, then we can fire up the bulldozer.

Paulo Coelho is listed here http://www.cbjj.com.br/resultados/1997brasileiro.htm as having competed and won a competition in Brazil in 1997. It says that his camp is Gracie Humaitá.
