    To improve cardio for Grappling you simply need to GRAPPLE more. Running, swimming, etc are all great but nothing beats actually getting on the mat and going at it.
    timed rounds with someone that can 'dance' with you at a certain level of intensity will improve your stamina AND help you develop specificity.

    I like jumping rope for now, I also do some interval/cardio stuff when I do my hockey dryland training. Puck handling with a heavy ball on cement focusing on specific drills to skills.

    Bag work, running, stairmaster....they all work if you are motivated to do them. If you do a search, there are on line resources to evaluate your cardio fitness based on your resting heart rate. VO2 Max testing would be fun (HA!) but hard to get access to without shelling out money to trainers or doctors.
