I am thinking of that training, but is that beef or bean?

"I've got training partners in my class, it's just that I don't have one OUTSIDE" ook right, would be excellent to have a trainign partner outside, I'm trying to get one...

    2 hours twice a week is OK...but no, not enough <img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

    *sniff sniff* I'd guess bean.

    Boyd,

Work your combinations on the bag. You want some combinations? I'm sure there are plenty to be found online. One valuable resource I found for training one and two-man was Benny Urquidez' first one..."Training and Fighting Skills".

I tend to do 3 3-minute rounds, one just hands, one just legs, and one working speed for my combos (tapping, minimal power). Then 2 or 3 3-minute rounds of combos with power. Not "sparring" with the bag, just the same combo (or two) over and over to work the movements with some power behind them. My current combos?

(left)Jab-jab-cross, left(lead) roundhouse, cross (step right), left hook, right (rear) roundhouse.

Jab, cross, cross, rear thrust, left hook (step left), cross, lead roundhouse.

I also tend to do one round of elbows and knees, just to work the basic technique, but I don't use them in combo yet.

And I don't do any of this "sharpening" stuff...ESPECIALLY not with my knuckles. If I hit someone, they WILL feel it. Elbows tend to cut naturally anyway.

    Regards,
    CrimsonTiger

I like to chain-punch a stationary bag or wall bag, full power and non-stop for 1 minute "rounds" with short rest periods in between. Its good for developing power, speed, and stamina.

Yeah, I tend to cut up my foreknuckles pretty bad anyway, and it's a pain to have to use palms for a week because of some teeny little cut (as I am right now).
