reading a book on illustrisimo kali a while ago, there was a bit in there about a traing method his students used:
they held a sledgehammer (doesnt say what weight) by the handle end by their sides and could raise the head up to parallel with the floor using just their wrist muscles, and these werent big guys at all.
i tried it and couldnt shift the fucker but can do it from about 6-8 inches from the top, obviously the further down you go the bigger your counterbalance and the shorter the distance from the pivot to the weight, but give it a try
I knew an old man once, WWII Marine, tough SOB who did masonry work for a living. He was like 65 and had massive forearms. The guy could pick up a shovel that way by holding it at the end of the handle with a cinder block on the shovel spade and lift it straight out in front of him. I tried for months and couldn't even get it off the ground, and I have really strong forearms. It was one of the most amazing feats of strength I've ever seen in person.
Sledgehammer levers are an awesome workout. Start off with a light one, under 8lbs if you can. It's tough as ****, I've bopped myself in the face a few times with one.

Now that's just sick.
He and John Brookfield are probably the only people who can do that out there right now that I know of. My current best is four 10's for about 46 seconds for the right hand and 34 for the left. I can only hold two 25's for less than 15 seconds each hand :(

I do my plate pinches with my thumb and last two fingers, more so to be able to close the COCs better than anything else. My hub pinching takes care of the others. I don't train my pinch too often, so it's not that great.
