Koo is so cool! Not only do they have numerous 5 and 6 year old bbs, they brag about it! From their site:

Joshua Bishop, Age 5, 1995
Tommy Muller, Age 5, 1995
Jared Whatley, Age 6, 1996
Tyler Moore, Age 5, 1998
Kyle Whigham, Age 6, 1998
Joseph Thornbrough Age 6, 2000

From several hundreds 3 years old and 4 years old, only these few remarkbale young children have persevered and succeeded!

What is a Black Belt?

Most traditional martial arts' systems and the general public believe that the black belt is the belt to achieve and when you attained the black belt, you are supposed to be able to defend yourself on the streets. This is the greatest myth of all time! Your ability to defend yourself on the street does no depend upon a piece of cloth which happen to be black.

Gimme a week, I can have my entire kids class promoted to blackbelt, plus the parent that has the four year old, will be 7. I will be the new master record holder for kddie black belts. My Kung Fu will be superior! I will be the koolest!

I have a cousin that's 3 and a half, I'm sure she can make black belt before four.

If I knew it wouldn't break out into a tea party, I'd stake their black belts against my daughter who learned to walk holding a ring rope, has put kids in school in the Crippler Crossface, and been mimicing my dad doing Tai Chi since the time she could walk on her own.

At six and the daughetr and granddaughter of martial arts instructors, she doesn't have a blackbelt.

What??? No black belt at six? Jeeeee, sounds like a loser!!

Her reliance on "The Tea Party" as a finisher is really hindering her. While being forced to hold a small cup and sip tea makes daddy tap everytime, grandpa, grandma, and my girlfriend are immune. Since it only has a 25% success rate, I can't in good conscience promote her to shodan with that technique.

Although, I do give her marks for her recent experimentation in the less known forms of Tai Chi, including the recently discovered "Ballerina Cat Tai Chi Superhero" form. Also, for helping me teach wrestling class by showing the other wrestlers how to properly sell a sleeper hold.
