Best time of day to strength train

I have been wondering if there is a best time to lift weights. I have heard it is best to run in the morning. I was wondering if it is also best to lift weights in the morning. I generally lift weights at night (between 10:00 and 11:00) because that is when i feel most motivated. Is there any good reason not to do this?

    thanks

Everyone's different. Just as some people are morning people and some are night people. Just as long as you consistently do it (and do it correctly) the "optimal" time is irrelevent.

If you can fall asleep fine, i wouldn't worry about working out that late.

I just wanna add that if you do train in the morning, it's advisable to eat breakfast first.

Strength training is best done in the morning before breakfast.

You need fuel to train properly. After 8 hours of fasting you need to restock on said fuel.

Ancient Chinese wisdom tell you this?

Yeah, great idea if you like to catabolize and have no energy to speak of during your lifts.

I guess it would depend on the person. Frankly, I feel like a sack of **** in the morning. The only workouts I'd do in the morning are cardio workouts.

I can barely squeeze my hands in the morning for some reason. My muscles and nervous system just aren't awake. I usually do weight training at about 4-6 PM, unless I have plans for the evening which is when I'd do it around 12-3 PM.

Anyhow i will just reiterate that whatever time that will keep you consistantly working out on a regular basis is the best time.
