KFDS, that last comment was pure stupidity.

The weapon's short so it HAS to be used with a shield to be effective against your seven foot long weapon? Uh huh.

Wow, that must be why I HAVE to have a shield to use my short sword (Describing length, not type) against a seven foot nagi-nata... Oh wait...

Now this is turning into a non sequitur **** fest.

People, pick one up , if you can. If it can bash you senseless while doing it the dumb way. Then it will hurt your opponent just the same of more when you actually learn to use it.

Actually the flail takes numerous forms, there are pole weapon versions, think a staff, with another chained section on the end. Thats the flail I was talking about.

Take your three section staff.

Go hit something with it several times in rapid succession like you can with a solid weapon

Watch your control over the weapon go to ****.

You say it's a non-sequitor **** fets, and then proceed to contribute your own non-sequitor argument.....

Just because a person can hurt themselves with the weapon doesn't mean that it's going to be much more dangerous to opponents once a person become proficient with that weapon. More complicated does not mean more effective.

Its only complicated to you.

And the only part of it that takes the time and hurts the most is swinging it. Otherwise you could pick it up and use the two outer sticks and use it like escrimas. Using the center to block and trap. that doesn't take much time at all.

Also its two sided weapon. It can be used to block and hit simulateously. A huge advantage over a one handed weapon.

It never ceases to amaze me how people will make toatly ignorant conjectures about something they only vaguely visualize in their imagination.
