when neither "fighter" is able to land a single blow on the other, it's obviously going to have been choreographed.

I saw this awhile ago. Someone on another forum used it as evidence that Shaolin Monks fight other styles. Which was hilarious because previously he said a MMA match was not a FIGHT but this was!?!?!?!?! The counter now is that a Shaolin monk entered a fight in HK this fall and got KOed quickly.

Anyways this is a SHOW match where neither is really trying to hurt each other but show the BEAUTY of their styles. It is a common thing on Asian tv but since the growing popularity of MMA they are showing up less and less.

I'm pretty sure also that the alleged shoalin fighter was just another TKD guy, and him and his pals were puttin on a little show.

Very old clip. Saw it like a yr ago. It looks more like a demo than anything and well they probably wouldn't realy go at it because if Korea won well China would be over there in a flash and itd be occupation time again.

uhhrr... I hope that was just a sad attempt at humor... I don't think China is going to go to war with korea over a shaolin monk getting beaten up by a TKDer

Ah, thanks for the explanation Asia. I do admit that the TKD techniques looked good.

Well if this was a staged event then it really is a bad example to show people interested in Kung-fu. IMO!

    Search button does wonders:

    Florida San Shou at IKF

    For the lazy:
    Direct link to video

A little background. They pulled the San Shou division at IKF, 3 out of 6 fighters for FSS decided to fight Muay Thai rules.....

Note: I uploaded the file to putfile, so the link in this message works, I'm
not sure if the old link still works.

Yep. I've seen these guys fight san shou rules, 1 out of 3 may have won their matches under the rules they normally train for... The last match was stopped due to a lost contact, so who knows...

Is San Da/Shou considered Kung Fu? Isn't it like: Karate/TKD is to American Kickboxing as Kung Fu is to San Da/Shou?

San Da and San Shou is kung fu trained like Muay Thai. That's why it's more effective than the rest of the kungfu **** that's out there.
