OK. I got a tai chi guy from another message board that wants in on this. I don't know anything about him other than he studies tai chi ...... R U telling me that on this "No BS" message board it's easier to find tai chi guys to show up for a Throwdown? Where is everybody? Summer's over .... let's train.

Looks like a few MMA guys from Sherdog are showing up. I'll post conformations and time on Wed.

I am new to the forum and MA (6 months doing Kyokushin) but would like to attend. Looking forward to the "confirmation and time" post to make sure the event is still on...

Well, it was going to be canceled due to lack of interest. Though one fighter from Sherdog said he'd go and I'd go if he goes. If we set this up, which I'll know by 3:00 p.m. today, you're welcome to attend.

However, understand it is full on, meaning punching, kicking, elbows, throws, locks and ground-n-pound until someone taps with no gear except 4 oz MMA gloves.

I appluad your bravery, but r u ready for this after 6 months of training? If we had more guys coming I'd say I'd spar with you or roll without striking, but if it's only 1 guy I can't justify blowing off a whole Sunday taking trains intoNYC just to spar.

Let me know. Keep in touch. And good on ya for stepping up.

Yes, I agree that I have very little training but I figured since I am a late starter in MA, it might speed up my learning curve if I participate in more events like this. I will lose a majority of the fights and probably even tap out in less than a minute but the point of these throwdowns seems to be about learning. I can always train 10 years and hide in my dojo or I can start with the basics and see where else I need to improve.

But I do understand that it might not be worthwhile for more skilled fighters like yourself to come out to a throwdown if there is only 2 or 3 people showing up (especially since you can probably tap me out in less than 30 seconds). If this one is canceled I will most likely participate in another one down the road when the chance comes. Thanks.

The Throwdown has been moved to next Sun., the 23. Looks like we'll have some folks from Sherdog coming as well as a few Kung Fu guys. Could be a nice mix.

Tabris, I think you have a great attitude. I'd come in just to roll with you and Re4 but it looks like we'll all be served to enjoy our weekend and catch up with everyone next Sun.

Keep your eye on this site for updates and times. I should post the official time and the adress by Wed. of next week.

    Peace
    Ray

I will not be able to make it next weekend, I'm going to a/c with a girl.

I still wasn't sure if I could have made it this weekend.
