Iím not putting Sofer down. Iím just saying the Israelites may have fought the way I described rather than Taekwondo style. But you never know.

The Abir videos on Youtube are pretty good and the Abir Wikipedia page is quite interesting. This guy might be telling the truth.

    +1.

Still, I think this is fake, or very very loosely based on historical principles.
First vid looked like ordinary kung fu to me.

Every culture has martial arts because people fight.

We know a bit about warfare in Biblical times. It was based on the spear, shield, short sword, javelin, bow and sling. The chariot was the king of the battlefield. Foot soldiers used formations like the phalanx. There were regional specialties; Egypt had the sickle-shaped khopesh.

Off the battlefield we know that sticks and staves were very common weapons for self-defense. Farmers and shepherds favored the sling for use against predators. The ancient Israelites were known to enjoy wrestling. We know something about the wrestling and stick work in the ancient Middle East because there are friezes, sculptures and even a few fragments of ancient wrestling manuals.

What I've never seen referenced are jumping spinning kicks, fans, Kuk Sul Won forms (the guy peddling this crap has rank in KSW) or any of that sort of untreated effluent.
