New York KAYO Boxing instructor Michael Corleone claims a lot of titles.

I came upon this chap here:

On his facebook page (which I have taken a screenshot for posterity's sake)...

...he claims to have been the IBO welterweight champion as well as a 6 time kickboxing champion, but he doesn't actually list where or which organization he was a champion with.

However the only thing I can find on a Mr. Michael Corleone is several references to a fictional character as well as this:

In which it claims this Michael Corleone is

won 11 (KO 2) + lost 23 (KO 11) + drawn 3 = 37
rounds boxed 189 KO% 5.41

So that's 11-23-3. And what's listed in the boxrec is that he lost the IBO welterweight title to a Scott DePompe.

I think it's the same guy. I don't wanna call him a liar... yet. At least not until we can confirm this boxrec is him or not. If it isn't then he doesn't show up anywhere else on anybody's records. NY bullies wanna chime in on this?

He doesn't state world champion. IBO have a whole range of belts so it's not out of the question he's won one of them.

Can't find a listing anywhere though, maybe someone else will have better luck.

I was going to suggest posting on IBO's forum, but a quick gander reveals it's wall to wall bots over there. It's like a fucking tin man convention.

Have you tried emailing them, see if they can help?

Yeah but according to boxrec, the ONLY welterweight fight he had where he was actually a welterweight and was fighting for a title, he lost.

Guys I know who Michael Corleone is from the LI scene, he is a kickboxing trainer and promoter. No idea about his credentials in that I have never bothered to look them up or anything.

However I don't think his real name is Michael Corleone, so that may be why you found nothing. Like I said I'm pretty sure its an alias, no idea why, but I remember it being said once. Also remember just b/c he uses an alias (assuming I remember correctly) doesent mean he's a bad guy.

If he uses Michael Corleone as an alias, it may not make him a bad guy, but what the heck kinda nickname is that? Sheesh, what's next, Tony Montana?

And what is his name then? Because there is a "Michael Corleone" in the Boxrec database and he did have a welterweight title bout and lost it.
