Tai Chi is both a striking and (stand up) grappling art.

In many ways its like HKD but with out having mixed TKD and second rate Aikido into a recent, missunderstood miss mash, then creating a history for it.

Some video here from a guy doing the same style as Liokault and I:-

I couldn't find it just now, but there should be some footage of Tai Chi guys winning San Shou comps on that site somewhere.

If they're way larger then you, I wouldn't even bother. There's a reason the throw isn't going to well, so I suggest you find an alternative method.

Now, it's been AGES since I practiced any grappling and I am totally hopeless without my strikes, however, what I do remember from JJ would be to clinch, and sort of pull/offbalance them as they move and trip/sweep.

Watch Genki Sudo vs Butterbean for some advise on getting a fat man down?

My question is - Is it even possible to body punch a really fat guy?

I would never EVER try to throw a big guy like that. Singles, ankle picks, doubles, trips... but not a throw.
