I was thinking of a really cool answer to that, but then the colours started changing. I saw myself as an old man eating soup, laying dead on a bed and finally as a giant fetus floating in space.

Are you asking if it is possible to get to a certain point from any other point in the world?

im asking if anyone has heard of this theory. My freind told it to me. He said there was a theory that said one could get an arm bar from any position. Of course one would have to be pretty damn good to pull somthing like that off. I am just asking if anyone else has heard about it.

I still don't know exactly what you're talking about.

But look at it this way. The shoulder joint is the most mobile joint in the body. Extend your arm out and any direction in which you can move your arm, you could theoretically get an arm bar. The biggest problem with some of the unorthodox angles is a minor little problem called immobilization.

As long as the arm is straight, locked in your grip, and the opponets upperbody is under control, and other little minor points such as body positioning and the phase of the moon, yes, you can armbar anyone from any position, except people with no arms.

Can you armbar someone from on top of a closed guard? I don't think so unless you're hella fast or their guard is hella weak. And they are extending their arm at you already. And his arm is already broekn. And he's dead.

I think it might be true if the other guy is really, really clueless.

    That's my point about immobilization.

Sure, theoretically it can be done, but it's going to be pretty damn hard to control him from inside his gaurd.
