Just to pick up on a couple of points.
    1. In what way does doing a form blindfold develop attributes applicable to combat?
    2. These groundfighting techniques you learn standing up, you reckon that without the groundfighting training, a typical student has a hope in hell of applying them on the ground in a 'for real' situation?

    You remind me of this:

    1. balance

    2. I didn't say we learned ground fighting techniques standing up... how ignorant to take what I wrote and change it to something else.

learning balance in a combat context whilst practicing solo? how does that prepare you for keeping your balance when someone is exerting force on you, like in a fight?

Lol. You and Beast Apprentice keep saying that stand-up Shou Shu moves could be employed on the floor. Could. Could as in hypothetically, afterall you don't train yourselves to actually use them in groundfighting. Could is as good as useless.
You are a total Douchbag. Train more, post nevermore.

On my screen, my replies are showing as 14" long. Not bad.

Funny how when people ask probing questions about your art, you resort to insults. What few factual answers we get out of Shou Shu'ers point in the direction of Shou Shu not being anything like as good as you want us to believe, and the questions that go unanswered (at least factually) speak volumes.

    So basically:
*Shou Shu does not include meaningful grappling in the training
*Despite great claims, Shou Shu is not 'good' against multiple opponents.
*Shou Shu employs the extremely dubious McDojo practice of yearly contracts
*Shou Shu cultism is alive and well
*Shou Shu is an incredibly insular community
*Shou Shu sparring is quite limited, both in scope and by an unrealistic stop-start culture.

NOT SURE HOW MY COMMENTS MADE IT SOUND LIKE SHOU SHU IS NOT GOOD AGAINST MULTIPLE OPPONENTS.. NO ONE EVER COMMENTED ON WHAT I WROTE...
I STAND STRONG THAT I CAN HANDLE MULTIPLE OPPONENTS..
    MEANINGFUL GRAPPLING..... THATS FUNNY!
YEARLY CONTRACTS... IT IS A BUSINESS SPANNING MANY DIFFERENT STATES.. CONTRACTS SEEM APPROPRIATE IN MY OPINION,..
CULTISM??? IF YOU SAY SO JIMMY...
SO YOU'VE TAKEN ALL THIS IN AND COME UP WITH THE CONCLUSIONS YOU WROTE ABOVE BASED ON SPEAKING TO LESS THAN 5 OF US..
AND YOUR CALLING US INSULAR... HA,HA,HA...
LIKE I'VE OFFERED AND SO HAS BEAST APPRENTICE... C'MON DOWN AND PUT US TO THE TEST IN REALISTIC TERMS.. LETS SEE IF WE CAN HOLD UP THE CLAIM WE STAND SO STRONG ON.

IF NOT.. SHUT THE **** UP AND STOP BASHING.....
YOU LIVE IN CALIF DON'T YOU.. I'M SURE WE COULD ARRANGE ONE OF US FROM MOORES TO SPAR WITH YOU AND THEN YOU CAN GET ON THE FORUM AND ACTUALLY WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING YOU KNOW FOR FACT...

Then there are things like this over on their forum (http://www.shoushu.info/viewtopic.php?t=473) ...come on guys...this sounds more and more like BS. At least they didn't tell me about this crap when I was there:

"There have been two moments when I felt the undeniable effects of chi. The first was when Dashifu came to the Stockton school (run by Shifu Coons at that time) and gave a lesson on Offensive Warrior. I was standing in line listening when Dashifu fires off this sword hand at my solar plexus. All I had time to do was look down at the strike helplessly. His fingers stopped at my gi top, but I felt the force of the strike go completely through me. It was like being struck by a ghost."

    And this one:

"The one that just blew me away was that of the Mongoose, I say this because, after the impact I could feel the energy vibrate down from my chest to my feet and then return back up to my lungs. It knocked the wind out of me!"

Again, this wasn't around (or at least wasn't discussed) when I was there, so is this a good thing or a bad thing?

1988 = Slow promotion, no sparring.

2005 = Fast promotion, chi power, one hit sparring.

Yeah, I'd say they are evolving there. In what I am not sure.

"The whole kicking with the ball of the foot and chop blocking concept just don't work against a game opponent"

that just put it ALL into perspective for Moores students blue or higher, whoops purple or higher

im glad you dont study Shou Shu anymore.

Lol. So you do yearly contracts but that's appropriate???? Classic.

And you stand strong that you can handle multiple opponents. Good for you. even better for your assailants -this goes to show the weaknesses of not pressure testing.

And I've come these conclusions by only talking to five Shou Shu'ists? Beast Apprentice will recall that I've debated it's merits with many Shou Shu'ers, many of them Shifu, for a couple of years. On MAP and the old Tung-Fu. And I tried to post on the Shou Shu forum yesterday but was banned for exposing shou shu'ers to disagreeing viewpoints (shows how insular the culture is).

And I'd love to spar with some Shou shu'ists, but alas, I am nowhere near California.

You assume to much. AND STOP WRITING IN CAPS YOU SILLYPERSON.

I'm mostly in UK. Sometimes in new England also.

Why don't some Shou shu'rers attend a Bullshido throwdown?

And it does seem from Beast Apprentice's and Shou Shu Energy's replies that contracts are still used by at least some schools (theirs presumably).
