Everyone can thank Rorion for removing Rickson from the plans of UFC I and replacing him with Royce. Then you would have seen Rickson closer to his prime.
The Oldschool is here....and I'm going to Rell in a Randbasket!

Style: Snatch Wrestling
What we will see is Silva being Pride champ and Rickson...not being a champ in anything outside of Chump Vale Tudo '94 and '95.
But on to more important issues there will be no-gi and lots of other stuff besides plain BJJ at that tournament if we're talking about the same thing and I will be there.

Do you think Solva is better than Coleman? Minotauro beat Coleman and I am certain that Rickson could whup Minotauro. Anyways, this BC tounrament is it called the western canada martial arts championship or something??
Are you only competing no gi?

That's the tourney, they should have no-gi which I'll compete in. They might also have Sport Ju Jitsu which I won't probably compete in and Pankration which I might compete in. Oh and there will be a bunch of faggy traditional divisions as well like forms and Point Sparring and other garbage like that which makes me want to get a "Tae Kwon Don't" shirt pretty badly .
And I think Silva is better than Coleman, in fact if Fagjita had just dropped out of the GP instead of walking into the ring and throwing in the towel I think Silva would have won the whole thing.

I might be competing in sport BJJ up there but I am not sure yet.

Where are you from?

Hold on....I forgot to visit this thread!
Kimura was a "Old School" Judo player and also a "Kosen" Judo player! He was not just an average Judoka...training in an average Judo "Sub" Style!
And Kimura is too strong for Rickson...can Rickson do 200 pushup the day before dying of a Lung Cancer?
NO Kimura before Kimura and NO Kimura after Kimura!
Kimura with an injuryed knee at 40 yrs old drawed against Santana 25 yrs old in Vale Tudo...(which is no shame considering that Satana loss to Kimura in a earlier grappling match....and that Kimura have at least one draw in Judo which lasted 50 minutes)
BTW, Kimura let Helio lasted according to Medhi, Pdeking and others...Helio was caught in at least 4 submission! Ude Garami, Side Triangle Choke, Dojime and a Headlock. At least 3 other Judoka lasted longer than 13 minutes...one was 30 minute or so, another was around 40 minute and then the 50 minute draw.
The "Few" (if any) people who would of beated Kimura in his prime would be Mas Oyama.
Now can Silva, Sakuraba or Rickson Gracie have beated Mas Oyama if all was in their prime?

Whether you guys like it or not (i didn't read this thread), Rickson is great... maybe not the best in jiu-jitsu but if not, he is damn close.
and what makes Oyama so special? Did he know anything about grappling to the level of Kimura, Sakuraba or Rickson? Would he even know how to defend a takedown or be able to against a world class wrestler???
I'm sure Oyama was a great karateka or even kickboxer, but if he never trained grappling to a high level and fought grapplers there is no way to decide how good he would have done. Just having good striking does make you are going to beat a top grappling and vise versa without additional training.

Kimura himself say that there's no one who can defeat Mas Oyama

and that means what?
