What is it about Adelaide that makes it spawn so many new krotty styles? Is it the fear of being murdered and shoved into a barrell?

you bastards :laughing9 so it has a shady rep . I reckon I know where your coming from as there is a lot of dojos. It had a fair price my son had fun and I liked some of the moves they practiced. So we will go back I'm not particapating myself.

If it has the words "Zen Do" and "Freestyle Karate" in the title, there's a strong possibility that it's Zen Do Kai, or a Zen Do Kai breakaway. The breakaway school's usually have rather unimaginitave names that don't stray too far from the ZDK name, or basic Japanese in general! LOL!

OK, seriously. To my ears it sounds like a Zen Do Kai offshoot.

Yeah I hear you and since they have black gi's it does look like Zen do kai . Maybe trying to find out a bit of the indervidual trainers might be wise. Although I have heard some-one on this site say it was fine for kids but pretty much crap. like I said before the price was fair (compared to GKR insurance ect) All I can say is thanks for the warning. It has put a dent on my happyness of getting my son into some kind of karate. we will see

thats looks sucky. they could have awesome technique though. which is great. until they get hit for the first time. never can quite get my head around non contact kickboxing...

As far as ZDK - I'd certainly not rate them on the same level of crappiness as GKR from my exposure to them. Good for kids to start on maybe, as long as you understand their limitations.

let me guess - a typical london school where overpaid tossers can come and dance about for a bit at a overpriced class before they go back to work and tell their overpaid colleagues that they do kickboxing and are therefore teh deadly?
