Thought this would get some blood going this morning. This is a video of a some of the stuff they've been working on in Spain. Ck out the little guy (Carlos Jodar)with the black gi, now that's American Kenpo done well. Shame, this guy is 5000 fucking miles away and does it better than some within minutes of the Mecca (Pasadena, CA. )

    Have a great Kenpo day

It's a nice video, but the fast cuts made it tough (for me, at least) to follow the action.

    What was the event?

Some 14th anniversary thing, not sure what it was.

That's OK, I know what I'm looking at and for me to say it's good goes a long way LOL.

That's because you have no idea what you're seeing.

Jsut so you know, a couple of things.

First, that was recorded at my college, probably at the INEF facilities (the INEF stands for Instituto Nacional de Educación Física, or National Institute of Physical Education). It is not uncommon to have MA demonstrations and seminars in the INEF. I think Bill Wallace and Joe Lewis were the first to give a seminar on Full Contact there, thus bringing the sport to Spain.

Second, I´m not a an expert on the subject and I don´t know if it is so in other countries, but in Spain, Kenpo (or Kempo) an Kajukenbo usually go hand by hand. That is I think they share the federation and it is not uncommon for practitioners and masters to train together, or at least have good relations between them. Kenpo and kajukenbo are widely spread in Spain, BTW.

    In case you´re not jocking.

Kajukenbo is a martial art developed by Adriano Emperado and some of his buddies, based on kenpo, judo, escrima, chinese boxing and I think I´m missing something else.

Supposedly, emperado and his buddies would pick fights in bars and the like in Hawaii to test their techniques and discrading what wasn´t usefull while keeping the good stuff, thus making kajukenbo "street proven".

From what I´ve seen is a striking art with some grappling in it, which resembles a lot to your american kenpo.
