    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Final Conflict one week away: let's predict

    Fight card:

    Heavyweight Championship Match:
Fedor Emelianenko (champion) vs Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
    > I have no idea. Both of these guys look pretty much unbeatable right now. We haven't seen much of CroCop's ground game because, well... nobody can take him down.

    Middleweight Grand Prix:
Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs Alistair Overeem
    > Shogun. Overeem has beaten good fighters, but Shogun mauled Rampage.

    Wanderlei Silva vs Ricardo Arona
    > I think Arona might be the best middle weight matchup against Wanderlei there is right now. He's got good takedowns, but he is much stronger on the ground than Rampage. Silva also had a tough time with Yoshida, another tough, strong grappler with good takedowns. I think this is going to decision with Silva being declared the winner, because Arona's face will be a mess.

    Winner Arona/Silva vs Winner Rua/Overeem
    > Silva.

    Middleweight Grand Prix Reserve Match:
    Igor Vovchanchyn vs Kazuhiro Nakamura
Nakamaura decision due to positional dominence and near submissions.

    Additional Matches:
David "Tank" Abbott vs Hidehiko Yoshida
Yoshida by sub round 1. I think there will be some entertaining slugging before that though.

    Fabricio Werdum vs Roman Zentsov
    No idea.
I pointed at him [the panhandler], bringing my rear hand up in a subtle approximation of the double Wu Sau guard that is the default hand position in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

    "Step away," I hissed.

    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Fedor Emelianenko (champion) vs Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
Cro-Cop by early knockout. But the longer the fight drags on, the less likely we'll be seeing a new champion.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs Alistair Overeem
Realistically, probably Rua. But everyone and his dog is in danger of being guillotined by Alistair, so I'm going with Overeem by Guillotine Choke in the 1st!

    Wanderlei Silva vs Ricardo Arona
Silva by unanimous decision. I'm looking foreward to seeing Arona recieve free facial deconstructive surgery from the middleweight champ.

    Winner Arona/Silva vs Winner Rua/Overeem
Can't say for certain, since I don't know who's fighting. But since I predicted Silva and Overeem, then definitely Silva...or Overeem.

    Igor Vovchanchyn vs Kazuhiro Nakamura
Vovchanchyn by KO(Standing) or TKO(Ground). You heard me.

David "Tank" Abbott vs Hidehiko Yoshida
Tank by Omoplata. Just kidding...Yoshida by sub.

    Fabricio Werdum vs Roman Zentsov
    Werdum by RNC.

    Shogun -- ref stoppage
Igor -- Because I want the old Igor back.
    Tank -- 1st Round KO
Werdum -- Don't know either fighter well but Zentsov appears to be a journeyman set up for Werdum to take out.

Fedor/CroCop - Fedor by TKO. Fedor has the stand up to get the clinch. Once he clinches Mirko's sprawl will not save him from the leg hooks Fedor uses. If Fedor gets this fight to the ground, Mirko is toast.

Shogun/Overeem - Good match up, could go either way. I will take Shogun. He's stronger than Overeem and should be able to dictate where the fight takes place. You can bet Shogun is working on that guillotine defense night and day now.

Arona/Silva - Arona needs to get on top, on the ground, right now. His stand up always falls apart once he gets tagged a couple times and his confidence wanes. Silva has not looked like The Axe Murderer, but I still think he has enough to beat Arona and make an all Chute Box final.

Shogun/Silva - Time to pass the torch Wanderlei. I think Shogun takes this one. At least I hope he does, I have a ten spot riding on Shogun to win it all.

Igor/Nakamura - Igor by TKO. I don't think Nak can force Igor to the ground and he better not trade with him standing. Igor has too much power.

Tank/Yoshida - Will Yoshida be in shape for this one? Tank certainly will not be. If Mark Hunt and Silva couldn't knock Yoshida out I am pretty sure he can survive Tank's hands as well. Yosh by quick submission. Tank has been in MMA for 50 years now and still has never bothered to learn the ground game.

Werdum/Zentsov - I'll pick Werdum. Zentsov has not won a fight since 2003 lost his last three in a row by TKO. The only impressive fighter in that string of losses is Travis Wiuff. Werdum by whatever he wants.
Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?

what is gonna be the main event? the champ match or the final middleweight match? I read that an unconfirmed matchup might be Yuki Kondo vs. Vitor Belfort. Shouldn't they make Kondo do what sakuraba did? I mean they weigh like the same.
