We need to grow up

Right. I haven't been posting here long, so I'm sure my opinion means nothing to some of you grand masters of the internet. The fact that I am new to this site means I obviously know nothing of value to any of you. I'll state my worthless opinion anyway just for the hell of it.

When the heck did everyone on this forum get so conservative and serious about themselves? Half the reason I come here is the entertainment value. Some of us get a laugh from the occasional "furious masturbation" comment and there is nothing wrong with that. If we all "grow up" this site is going to be about as fun as the Mutual of Omaha website. Eat some fiber and lighten up. This website isn't going to be taken any more seriously if we all start prancing around the virtual world like a bunch of conservative jerkwads.

Now, let's all commence being nice to each other. :occasion1

It might be easier if you give a definition of a bullshido art.

Traditionally, MA involved a lot of sparring and challenges. WC, Karate, Aikido, lots of Kung Fu, have none of that, even though they claim to be "traditional".

I think a lot of bullshido's problems can be solved by the "read more, post less" approach by the newbie. How many stupid threads that get flamed are started by people that posted their first topic without reading much of the site? We're all guilty of flaming trolls, and I don't really see anything wrong with that.

I think closer moderation as to what threads in the "Bullshido" forum are started would be nice. We do not need 12 Wing Chun threads to be active, just like we don't need 37 Phil/Dan Webre threads up at once. The other topical areas could possibly also benefit from a little more active moderation.

As far as General BS is concerned: Enter at your own risk.

Complements to Bullshido: The Martial Arts History Project is a shining example of a subforum that is exactly as advertised.

An important point is that we aren't real forgiving of pre-teens in general around here, regartless of gender. . .Knightmare toughed it out, Trinity didn't...no one really knows what the hell to think of baifuhao or whatever...

OK, that's clear enough. I'll come back to Bushido for advice if I ever decide to march into the school down the road and challenge them to a death match. Fortunately it's a school of old dears doing Tai Chi so I think I've got a reasonable chance.

Dude, all I have to do is see his name and I laugh.

I actually like the guy. I think he's misunderstood. He has some really good ideas and fundamentally his ideas are not so bad. He just seems to get lost in the application of those ideas. I do think he's funny though. And he's a perfect example of what you're talking about. He's taken a brutal thrashing, yet he still hangs around and posts. He didn't let it get to him, at least not yet. And to be honest, while I think most of it was over the top, he deserved a lot of it.
