I've never trained with weapons formally, but I keep an old man's cane I found in the street in my car just in case. Here's some theory though: STICKFIGHT!!!

Depends how you define good. They are by no means top shelf weapons...but they are cheap, available, dependable and shoot. That's good enough for most applications.

I love mine. Like PD said, cheap and reliable. Mine actually shoots pretty well. It's a Russian model.

Although for home defense, I'd personally go with an 870.

I go with my Glock 21C for home defense. I think it might be going overboard to burst out of my bedroom spraying hundreds of 7.62 rounds from my AK-47 at an intruder. And my apartment neighbors would not appreciate it…
