I give it a 2.5 out of 5. Not as much blood or gore as I would have liked to see (especially coming from DOOM). Perdictable plot. Not ever close to being scared, not was the girl infront of me, or any one else. Not alot to spoil, but I can tell you the Rock turns into a dick about half way thru the movie.

DOOM wasn't really about gore...

It was about pure violence, bad-assness, being hard as hell, and being scared. Pixelated 2D flying zombie monster heads don't have the same effect as humans when you see their blood. Especially since you get plasma rifles and stuff.

Even in DOOM3 there wasn't much gore.

Movies don't frighten me anymore. It takes a game to do it now. Something that I can interact with.

A movie version of System Shock 2 will probably rule. Probably...provided it's not directed by Uwe Boll, which in turn will make it more similar to System Turd.

A concern is how he wants to gain rights to make a movie of Metal Gear Solid. Why can't the man leave good solid franchises alone?

YEAH!? Well they are makin a silent hill movie, and the silent hill team has ABSOLUTE authority over anything in the movie.
this could be the first good video game movie.

It could be so cool if they could get the atmosphere right, but you're correct, it would be a squad of wisecracking marines + tits + slow motion jumping kicks. The wrench could be brilliant, it's so heavy and brutal it would really set the right mood.

System shock 2 will introduce a new MA system called wrench fu, in which actors and stunt members spent months learning going through wrench kata and wrench drills.

Half Life: T3h Movie will introduce the crowbar as the ultimate weapons system against crates, small vermints, and head infesting aliens.

a good movie from a video game?

I heard saving private ryan was originally supposed to be a video game but no company would take it, if thats true, technically it could be considered a movie made from a videogame.
