OK, I typed a response and the board ate it. It was good too. Here's the nutshell version:

Wing Chun's linear focus and poor footwork make it low powered.
Wing Chun's defense isn't geared against techniques from other arts
Wing Chun attracts nutbar sinophiles.
Wing Chun has an excess of dumb politics and revisionist history.
Wing Chun proponents continually extend "Sport Vs Street" pap that doesn't make sense
Wing Chun produces almost no competitive fighters
I have never met a WCer in person who could fight.
I have never seen video of a WCer fighting well.

I am sure there are exceptions to this rule - several of the guys at Leejunfan's school look like they would be a handful, for exampel - and I'm sure somewhere in the world, there's a wingchunner that can fight. I'm just still waiting to see it.

And as for the reason we 'bash' wing chun so much:

New wing chunners come to the board all the time
None of our questions about the style ever seem to get addressed.

you forgot one,

wing chun attracts people who want to do nothing but bag on it.

i dont know about the rest of you, wing chunners or not, but i for one am getting sick of seeing the "top ten reasons why wing chun sucks" threads. you would think that all of you heavily trained martial artists out there that spend every spare minute of the day bagging wing chun could find something a bit better to do with youre time. then again, maybe you dont have anything better to do, in which case, well, thats just sad.

anyway, maybe its time for admin to create a seperate section of the forums specifically for all the wankers on here who want to talk about nothing more than how bad a martial art wing chun is, so the rest of us that arent interested can enjoy the board without being bombarded with it every fucking day.

There is a special forum for that. It's called the Bullshido forum. It's about fighting the BS in martial arts and WC is chalk full of it. Oh, what's that? It's not? Prove it.
