Guilty as charged. I only do groundfighting because it's flashy and looks cool.

Love the sarcasm. But in all honesty, if you see a UFC fight and someone pulls off something flash, part of you does say, "Wow, I want to learn something like that."

Does one ever see something cool and not say that?

First time I saw blindfolded chi sau, I was pretty impressed. Made me want to do Wing Chun.

But what I don't get is the excessive hate. Scoping out some of the other threads, people go into tirades on Wing Chun. I know people who have been under Simon Lau, for years, and got seriously pissed which put them of the art altogether. Fair enough, Wing Chun does have it's fair share of fraudsters but there are the few who really do the art proud and I just think that Gary McKenzie is one of them.

Do a review of all the huge Wing Chun threads, the various arguments and counter-arguments etc.. before asking the 'why do people mock Wing Chun' question. It will save you much time.

So you would say it is definately the lineage then? I find this very important as well. One most pick out the correct instructor with the proper, authentic credentials and be careful of frauds.

Done. And the same arguments come up time and time again. My real question isn't "why mock Wing Chun" it's why go into one with it. If people want to do Wing Chun, fine, want to do BJJ, great, but posting over and over again into nauseous oblivion doesn't help. Come on homie, we're on the 93rd page.
