Yes, but 1) look at the experience level of Yabushita vs the other fighters 2) Yabushita fights dirty (and the refs never seem to see it ).

ahhh...that's Yabushita! Well, this is a step up and out for Laura D (and I'm certainly rooting for her). I've seen her fight men and she was impressive, and I've seen her grapple and she is solid on the ground. This will be a good test to she just how good she is.
If she beat Roxy, she has to be solid on the ground.
(Little known fact, Roxy is Mrs. Praxx favorite fighter.)
Just checked Sherdog and Roxy's only two losses are to....Laura D'Auguste and Yabushita.
Saw Roxy fight here and the first thing you see is this skinny girl with glasses. Makes you think, "This poor girl is going to get waxed." Then the bell rings and it goes to the ground.
P.S. She just moved to Japan so I don't think we will be seeing her fight around these parts anytime soon. :sad3:

Makes you think.
daigoro is correct -- tournament for the middleweight championship. Semifinals/finals (appears that the first round was April 30). No other useful information except that Saioka is 3-0 and Say is 2-0 in Smack Girl.
Interestingly, the catch copy above the fighters' profiles plays up D'Auguste and Saioka. The only mention of Yabushita is that Saioka has beaten her, and there's no mention at all of Say.
...some propoganda from the TSK web site on Laura...her gound game is good enough to take 2nd in Men's Advanced Flyweight at NAGA. I wonder who the men are who lost to her? :icon_thum
Laura D' Auguste's Story
In April 1996, a hopeless and nervous woman in her early to mid twenty’s walked into a Woman’s Safe Seminar held by the Tiger Schulmann’s Karate Center in Oceanside. Laura D’Auguste’s mother signed her up for the seminar because Laura was in an abusive marriage, and she was worried about her daughter.
After the seminar Laura enrolled in a beginner program at TSK. She had no job and very little money. All the money Laura had went to raising her little girl, who was a toddler at the time. Sensei Guzman gave Laura an opportunity to work for the school to earn her tuition. She cleaned the mats, the windows, and the locker rooms while training regularly. At this same time, Laura enrolled in nursing school. She worked day and night to earn her nursing degree, her 2nd degree black belt, and her Level 2 Joshu, all at the same time.
Laura soon joined the TSK fight team becoming one of the most successful and recognized fighters on the team. She is the undefeated Ring of Combat and Reality Fighting Champion. At Challenge of Champions XVII, Laura entered and won 1st place in the “Men’s Advanced Grappling” division and 3rd place in “Black Belt (Men’s) Free Fighting.” Laura represented Team TSK in NAGA, where she recently took 1st place in “Women’s Advanced Lightweight,” 1st place in “Women’s Advanced Middleweight,” and 2nd in “Men’s Advanced Flyweight.”
Laura D’Auguste went from a woman with no confidence and very little self-esteem to becoming one of the most admired women on Team Tiger Schulmann. She got out of her abusive marriage. She has an amazing daughter, and she’s an extremely successful nurse. Just goes to show what a non-quitting spirit can do!
That's an awesome story and she's an awesome fighter.
Smack girl is great to watch. Sometimes they have cool events like tag-team mma fighting.
