I haven't personally experienced, but I've heard complaints from older/weaker people using the aerotech with stronger limbs that it vibrates quite a bit and, ya know, the shock or w/e hurts their elbow/shoulder over time. I don't think that should be a huge problem for a young strapping lad such as yourself, but I thought it would be worth mentioning, seeing as how you're gay enough to do something like archery.

So anyway I bought a slightly used bow for five-hundred. It's a black Gold Medalist, so it's still pretty sexy, and it came with #38 limbs. It came with a bunch of other crap like a sight, a stabilizer and v-bar and the rest of that crap, a dozen arrows, a hard case, and some miscellaneous stuff.

Stabilizers get fucking heavy after an hour of shooting.

    Make your own bow.

There is a whole magazine devoted to it, much more fun, and you will learn alot. Then you will know more when you go and buy one....

I've thought of doing that somewhere inbetween the suit of armor and submarine I also want to build. I don't currently have any tools for that kind of thing.

    HeHeHe.... :XXjester:

I made one out of a Doug Fir branch with a regular carving knife. Had to carve and play with it to get balanced. Just for fun..... :blob1:

Look up the "Traditional Bowyer's Bible" volume 1. To make a long bow, all you need is a well seasoned piece of wood, a drawknife, and lots of sweat.

I'm short on the wood and drawknife there.

My top limb split (lamination failed) and now the entire set is useless. What a crappy way to spend money. I blame Camus.

Outdoor 3-D shoots are almost as much fun as hunting. Shooting in the woods through and around limbs and leaves can add to the fun of target shooting.

I can't tell you about recurves I can say that new compounds bows can be held for minutes at 65 - 75 # draws and are very stable. In open areas I can hit 18" area at 50 yards and I can damage arrows from such tight grouping at 30 yards and under. I can't see how you or anyone with a couple of months practice couldn't achieve similar or better results with a new compound bow.

Either way you go don't go and buy the top of the line bow and more importantly don't buy an old used piece of junk. I would serioulsy recommend buying a lower end NEW bow, compound or recurve.

I do respect you for wanting a recurve and good luck.

    And most importantly C + PT x C = CS

Concentration + Positive Thinking X Confindence = Consistent Success

    Just a little hunting ethic.
